The statements that describe Franklin Delano Roosevelt's presidency are:

-FDR won the war and worked hard for a peaceful postwar world.

-FDR inspired the American people.

-FDR was very effective as a crisis manager.

The economic crisis of 1929 and his commitment to a new policy, the New Deal, earned him the confidence of the Americans in the 1932 elections by defeating the Republican candidate Herbert C. Hoover, and becoming the president of the United States of America.

His New Deal economic policy consisted of stimulating public spending through investment in infrastructure; During his first years of government he executed all kinds of projects such as hydroelectric plants, roads, schools and in general all kinds of public works, significantly modernizing the country. The New Deal did not solve the crisis, which lasted until the United States mobilized its economy with World War II, at which time the number of unemployed remained high. On the other hand, its success is undeniable on the social level. The policy led by President Franklin D. Roosevelt changed the country through a revolution, as he himself expressed: "If it is a revolution, it is peaceful, carried out without violence, without the collapse of the rule of law and without the denial of equitable right of every individual or social class". On the other hand, the programs of the New Deal were openly experimental, manifestly perfectible, and, given the costs of this process, a more full change program could have been preferred. However, the imperfect nature of the New Deal allowed a constructive criticism and a more deliberate reflection that opened the way to an improvement of the American democracy in the following years and that lasts until the present.

During his term, he enhanced foreign policy by striving for America's world primacy, establishing diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union in 1933. In response to the threat of Hitler's Germany, he launched a series of preventive measures (rearmament, economy of war, alignment with the Western powers) that prepared the country for a possible armed confrontation.

In fact, despite not participating in the war directly, he established a fluid supply of arms and supplies of war for his allies and, on the other hand, rightly prevented equal conditions for the Axis powers, such as blocking hydrocarbons to Japan.

The ghost of the war was presented with the attack on Pearl Harbor from the Japanese command to the military base in Oahu Pearl Harbor in the Pacific in 1941. Faced with this aggression, Roosevelt declared before Congress that day and asked the state of war to it. He acted firmly and energetically in all the necessary aspects to bring his country and his industry to an optimal war effort.

Supporter of the diplomatic channel and maintain personal contacts with allied politicians, he met several times, separately and jointly, with Winston Churchill and Stalin to reach agreements at the end of World War II in the so-called Yalta Conference. In this line and in accordance with his desire to achieve a peaceful understanding between the different countries, he promoted the creation of a United Nations (UN).

Answer:

Considering these questions:

1. What if Napoleon had never been born? (In what ways would history have been different? Do you think someone else would have done what Napoleon did? Why?)

<em />

<em>a. If Napoleon was never born, someone else would have been born to undertake his roles but not in exact ways because nature abhors vacuum.</em>

<em>b. History would have been different because no two persons are the same and are created to perform exactly the same roles in nature. They might undertake similar ventures but not exactly the same at the given time.</em>

<em> c. Yes someone else would have done what Napoleon did but in his own way. As earlier said no two persons are the same with the same mission. </em>

2. The French Revolution began as a struggle for the rights of the people against a single ruler with all the power. It ended by giving all power to another single ruler. Why do you think that happened?

Answer: It happened because the Public cannot be King, it is only a person that shall be given the people's mandate to lead the others. The only thing the people abhor or do not tolerate is high-handedness of a ruler not a leader. No leader is an absolute, that was why we should not allow too much power to be concentrated in an individual because of abuse. L<em>ord Acton said " Power corrupts but absolute Power corrupts absolutely."</em>
