Answer:

A warrior frightens a gruesome monster away.

Explanation:

When you complete a sentence you have to make sure that the combination o verb and predicate are compatible, and that they express in the best possible way what you are trying to say. So let's analyze the answers:

1) frightens; away: this is grammatically correct, and both words combine well and add meaning to the message.

2) splits; in half: this is grammatically incorrect, it would have to be "into halves" or "in two"

3) kills; forever: kills already implies is forever, it is repetitive

4)beats; in pieces: beats doesn't imply that the monster was split into pieces, so these two words don't combine.

PLZZZZZ HELP 20 POINTS In a short essay of 2-3 well-developed paragraphs, compare and contrast reading the story with watching t
Anvisha [2.4K]

The difference between the film and the book is the setting and atmosphere the director presents in the film. The setting is made as simple and realistic as possible to make, the atmosphere suspenseful. The director used foreshadowing by filming Tess Hutchinson's nervous, smiling face. The movie’s more defined because we see the serious and nerves faces of the town’s folk.

The film and the short story are very similar. Both are very bone chillingly suspenseful, and both moods are dark and morbid. The scene were the children were gathering rocks was foreshadowing the heart-stopping scene that has yet to occur. Both film and story stayed true to this moment. The film did an astonishing job of creating the feel of tradition for this morbid act.

hope this helps! :)

In her speech, "After Being Convicted of Voting," Susan B. Anthony argues that
Artyom0805 [142]

She infers the most important one. It is a cruel injustice to deny women the right to vote. She says it is an oligarchy based on gender which translated means that women and enslaved by the men in her household. She is not respected as mother. She is not respected as sister or as wife as long as she is not equal to men.

She makes 2 references to the Federal Constitution held to be so important to all Americans.

The first is that the constitution begins with "We the People." Who is we? How is 'we' defined? Does it mean everyone or does it mean just males. History would say most of the time it means just males.

The second reference is a good deal more complex and uses legal jargon. It is an ex post facto law. This is a law that makes it a crime for acting in a legal way. She also uses the term attainder in the same sentence which is the abolishment of a citizen's civil rights after committing a felony. What she means is that any state that passes a law that prohibits half the population from voting is committing an attainder or a ex post facto law, which the constitution expressly forbids.

I think one of the things worth noting is that she committed the felony in the 1872 election (voting illegally), and women did not receive the vote until 1920. That's nearly 48 years between her act and what she was aiming to accomplish. She did not live to see her life's work come to fruition.
