Hyperbole is used when Shakespeare is speaking about his mistress. He is actually over exaggerating how ugly and repulsive his mistress is. He is saying that she doesn't have a lovely blush to her face when he says "But no such roses see I in her cheeks." He is also saying that her breath is awful when he contrasts her breath to nice perfume and says "than in the breath that from my mistress reeks."

Read this text from Paragraph 3 of the passage.
vladimir2022 [97]

The correct answer is B.

In this passage from "Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass" we can see that, by banning his wife from teaching him how to read, Mr. Auld gave Frederick what he had been looking for his whole life.

The manner in which he spoke, which was meant to impress his wife, caused a different reaction on Frederick. He knew that if his master was against him leargning how to read, it must be important. He understood that the only way he could ever gain his freedom was through education.

How to interpret Dr.Martin Luther King’s I have a dream speech ?
emmainna [20.7K]

Answer:

It would be easy to assume that the stirring words of Martin Luther King Jr.'s “I Have a Dream” speech affected Americans most of all. His goading of a nation to live up to the democratic principles of its founders was a sharp display of America's private grief.
