How has the US been involved in the Middle East since WWII?
rjkz [21]

After World War II, The United States got heavily involved in the Middle East, mostly because of its political and economic interests.

Explanation:

After the World War ended, the Middle East was a region that just got its freedom after a very long time. The young states had lot of problems, and there was big interests from the global superpowers for controlling them because they lied on enormous reserves of oil.

The United States rushed to make good relations and if possible to control some of the countries. There was enormous competition for the region though, especially from the Soviet Union. The United States invested heavily, and put in a lot of effort to secure the region for themselves, and i part managed to.

The long term benefits of this have been huge for the United States. Also, whenever there was someone in the region that was threatening their interests, the United States didn't hesitated to use their military power and put things under their control.

Some of military interventions by the United States in this region were:

  • Soviet-Afghan war
  • the Gulf War
  • Iraq war
  • Afghanistan war
  • Syria war
