Sediments are usually defined as those solid broken materials that are carried away and deposited by agents such as wind, water, and ice. These sediments include sand, clay, silt, and gravels.
Those sediments that have a diameter smaller than 0.0625 mm are considered as silt and clay, where the size range for silt is 0.004 to 0.0625 mm and the size of clay is less than 0.004mm in terms of diameter. These sediments are not visible to our naked eye.
