The formula for slope is (y2-y1) ÷ (x2-x1). it doesn't matter which y you make y2 and y1 but if you make -3 your y2 then 3 needs to be your x2.
so...
(y2-y1) ÷ (x2-x1)
(-3-0) ÷ (3-15)
-3 ÷ -12
.25 or 1/4

so your answer would be A. The slope of the line is ¼

Write the equation of the line in fully simplified slope-intercept form.
fiasKO [112]

y = -\frac{1}{2}x - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's pick two points on the line: P_1(-4, 1) and P_2(2, -2). Let's calculate the slope of this line using these points:

m = \dfrac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1} = \dfrac{-2 - 1}{2 - (-4)} = -\dfrac{1}{2}

With this value of the slope, we can write the general slope-intercept form of the equation as

y = -\frac{1}{2}x + b

To solve for the y-intercept b, let's use either P1 or P2. I'm going to use P2:

-2 = -\frac{1}{2}(2) + b \Rightarrow b = -1

Therefore, the slope-intercept form of the equation is

y = -\frac{1}{2}x - 1

You put $500 in the bank, where it ears 1.5% simple interest every year. How long until your money will triple?
zzz [600]

Answer:

133.33 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Principal = $500

Interest rate (r) = 1.5% = 0.015

Triple amount of principal = $500 * 3 = $1500 = final amount (A)

Number of years (t) =?

Using the relation :

A = P(1 + rt)

1500 = 500(1 + 0.015t)

1500 / 500 = 1 + 0.015t

3 = 1 + 0.015t

3 - 1= 0.015t

2 = 0.015t

2 / 0.015 = 0.015t / 0.015

133.333 = t

Melody have now $27.75

Step-by-step explanation:

We will proceed to solve the problem in parts so that it can be better understand

so

1) Originally Melody had $45

2) She spent $32.75 on a blouse

so

In this moment Melody has --------> $45-$32.75=$12.25

3) Her mother gave her $15.50

so

In this moment Melody has --------> $12.25+$15.50=$27.75

therefore

Melody have now $27.75
