The correct answers are A) open and C) wide open.

The types of primaries that lend itself to “party raiding” are open and wide open.

When talking about politics in the United States, “party raiding” is a term used to describe the action of members of one party vote in the other party’s primarily election. This is an old tactic that has in mind two basic purposes. One, to try to influence in the results in order to elect a bad candidate or a weak candidate that cannot compete with the other party’s candidate. And two, to maintain the internal division of that party that is supporting different candidates.
