The correct answer is B) they are code names for the sections of Normandy beach that were attacked.

<em>The terms Omaha, Sword, and Utah relate to the battle of Normandy in that they were code names for the sections of Normandy beach that were attacked. </em>

The allied forces used code names to define the area of the beach that they were going to attack. Indeed, the used five code words: Omaha, Utah, Sword, Juno, and Gold. Those were the sectors they attacked.  The “D Day” was a key moment to define the war. That day the American forces helped the Allies in a battle that represented the beginning of the end of the war. This battle gave the allies the possibility to enter the continent through France.

Which of the following best describes the use of the Latin language in Medieval Europe? A. It was used by the Catholic Church an
omeli [17]

Answer:

A. It was used by the Catholic Church and in academic settings.

Explanation:

Latin was for 20 centuries the official language of the Church. Academic writing and research was published in Latin. Masses were said in Latin, despite the fact that only the clergy and the best educated people (very few people during the Middle Ages) were the only ones who could speak and understand it. It was only in the second half of the 20th century that the Roman Catholic Church authorized masses in the local and national languages of each country.
