You can increase your credibility, or believability, by citing well known authors (According to...), sharing both sides of an argument (i.e. While school uniforms do, to some extent, take away students' self-expression, these uniforms provide the greater benefit of eliminating signs of socioeconomic status.), and by citing your sources correctly. This way, your audience will see that you are well informed and rational.
