Switch the second equation to equal y so...
y=-2x-3
then plug in for y in the first equation
2x+4(-2x-3)=6
2x-8x-12=6
-6x=18
x=-3
now plug in for y
2(-3)+y=-3
-6+y=-3
y=3

answer (-3,3)
