The Supreme Court is selected by the president. The best sentence to explain how the president selects a justice for the Supreme Court is “the president will select a judge whom he considers the most qualified and will most likely support his agenda”.

EXPLANATION

The appointment of a Justice is a very important event in the world of American politics. Each appointment of a justice is important because of the enormous consequences of judicial power, as the highest court of appeal in federal court. Besides, the appointment of a justice is rare.

According to the Constitution, the Court of Appeal consists of nine judges who have a life-long appointment mandate. These provisions are deliberately designed to ensure the independence of the Court from intervention by the President or Congress. Later, the appointment of a Justice maybe only once or even never at all during the presidency of certain Presidency periods.

Political turmoil usually plays an important role in appointing the Supreme Court. For example, it is usually assumed that the President will tend to appoint prospective Judges who have political views or ideology in his country in accordance with the president's vision and mission. Then, the possibility of the political nature of the appointment process has the potential to ignite controversy. especially when it clashes with opposition parties or Congress. As a benchmark, observers will judge from the track record of a prospective Judge before he is truly at stake as the Justice.
