Why is art so valuable and expensive?

Arts

Art is so expensive because it is entirely unique, and not everyone can do it. It requires a huge imagination to be able to create professional art.

Another reason is because of the medium used. If a certain piece of art was made with, let's say gold, then it will be expensive for two reasons. One; the creativity, and two; the medium used.

Sometimes it's expensive due to the fact that the artist makes very limited artwork. They may not make so much art.
The technique also makes it pricey. Suppose a person painted with their feet, and it was a professional piece. It would be expensive.

If art was made with unique tools, like bread, then it would also be expensive. A sculpture sculpted with bread is pretty strange, right? Not to mention unique. Artwork like that actually does exist.

Have a nice day! :)

Why does Harlem Renaissance hold such significance in US history despite its fading influence during the Great Depression?
DaniilM [7]
The Harlem Renaissance was a period of rich cross-disciplinary artistic and cultural activity among African Americans between the end of World War I (1917) and the onset of the Great Depression and lead up to World War II (the 1930s). Artists associated with the movement asserted pride in black life and identity, a rising consciousness of inequality and discrimination, and interest in the rapidly changing modern world—many experiencing a freedom of expression through the arts for the first time.

While the Harlem Renaissance may be best known for its literary and performing arts—pioneering figures such as Langston Hughes, Zora Neale Hurston, Duke Ellington, and Ma Rainey may be familiar—sculptors, painters, and printmakers were key contributors to the first modern Afrocentric cultural movement and formed a black avant-garde in the visual arts. (Hope this helped!)
