The ancient Greeks played a very important role in the development of the American political process. To begin with, the ancient Greeks created the first democracy in Athens. Without the Greeks, the United States would never become a democracy in the first place. In Athens, citizens were given the right to vote and speak their opinion, unlike many other civilizations. Because of this, the US and many other countries now have democracies where the people have a right to influence their country. All in all, one thing is certain; the ideas from ancient Greek civilizations played a very important role in the development of the American political process.
