Yes, Wu Hou married a tang emperor. A few years later she changed the dynasty to Chou, and named herself the "Sacred and Divine Empress Regnant" of the Chou Dynasty. In effect, she usurped the Tang Dynasty without major bloodshed.

Answer:

Yes! But through their sons.

Explanation:

During the dynastic period of Chinese history, emperors were usually male. However, if an emperor died and left their son the empire at a very young age, the young emperor's mother would take control until he was old enough to rule. These women were known as Empress Dowagers, and they often continued ruling through their sons even once they were old enough to rule independently.

An example of this is the Empress Dowager Cixi - who ruled through her son the Tongzhi emperor and then later her nephew, the Guangxu emperor. She held a lot of power and, while she was not technically the emperor, she was recognized as the person in control.

Therefore the answer is,

yes, women were emperors of china.

why is it important to remember historical events, especially the Holocaust? what purpose does historical remembrance serve?
PtichkaEL [24]
Hello there!

The question you asked is "why is it important to remember historical events?"

The answer to your question is simply that in order to stop bad things from happening in the future, we must learn from the past.

The holocaust is one example of something we don't want to repeat in the future, therefore we must study how Hitler took over Germany. A few of the things he did was took over the school systems so that he could indoctrinate the children. These children became known as the Hitler Youth. Another thing he did was take away guns from Jewish people so that they could not fight back.

If we realize what Hitler did to take over, we can stop fascist politicians in modern day times.

I hope this helps!
Best wishes:)

In 1920 his political career began, he was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives. A decade later he became Georgia’s governor. His most significant accomplishment was the reorganization of the state government by reducing the number of agencies from 102 to 17. In 1932, the death of a Georgia Senator opened the door for Russell to enter national politics. Russell announced his candidacy and would win the election. He entered the Senate as the youngest member during a troublesome time in the U.S. He soon would become heavily involved on several committees and administrations setup to help bring the country out the depression.
