The most basic concepts of cell theory are that cells are the basic units of life and that all living things are made of cells.

Which answer correctly explains why these concepts are the basis of a theory and not a hypothesis? Cell theory explains how cells function rather than predicting how they function. Cell theory has been unchanged for many decades and as a result can be accepted as fact. Cell theory is a prediction based on observation and not a fully accepted idea. Cell theory remains largely untested rather than being subject to testing.

Answer : Option B) Cell theory has been unchanged for many decades and as a result can be accepted as fact.

Explanation : As cells are basic units of life and all the living beings are made up of cells, this was correctly defined by the cell theory. This theory is since its discovery not changed for many decades and is widely accepted as a fact too.

The right answer is B.

Theodor Schwann, a doctor of medicine and a German biologist, proposed in a note of 1839 that all living beings are made up of a set of building units of the same type, the cells. This idea was to prove most fruitful: the functioning of all living beings could now be analyzed in the same terms since the unity of construction was common. Despite its many errors and imperfections, especially on the formation of cells, Schwann's theory was to give birth to a unifying synthesis which constitutes in biology, in the same way as the atomic theory in physico-chemistry or that of the big bang in astrophysics , one of the strongest foundations on which science rests.

Whiat signals induces the disassembly of the nuclear lamina?
saw5 [17]

Answer: Phosphorylation of mitotic sites at the start of mitosis (N-terminal S22 and C-terminal S392 in human lamin A/C)

Explanation: During mitosis the nuclear lamina is dissociated by phosphorylation- dependent mechanisms that causes conformational changes in structure at N- and C-terminals (non alpha helical terminals) during the start of cellular mitosis that leads to its disassembly. This is because the nuclear lamina has two sites that accept phosphates (phosphoacceptor sites) causing a phosphorylation reaction.

The nuclear lamina is a fibrillar network of intermediate filaments as well as membrane proteins and are involved in DNA replication, cellular division as well as providing mechanical support within the cell.
