Answer:

One explicit incident when Zeus was overthrown was when for some nebulous reason, the other Olympians got sick of Zeus being in charge, so while he was napping they bound him up in chains. The rebellion was spearheaded by Hera, Athena, and Poseidon (some versions swap one of them out with Apollo), who proceeded to argue which of them should be the sole person in charge, i.e. replace Zeus. While they argued, the Oceanid Thetis (later the mother of Achilles) got Briareus, one of the Hundred Handed Ones whom Zeus rescued from Tartarus during the Titanomachy, to free Zeus. The rebels quickly bowed back down to Zeus after that.

Answer:

When Hera, Apollo, Poseidon and Athena lead a revolt/rebellion against Zeus, they failed and were punished. Apollo and Poseidon were sent to build Troy's wall. Hera was tied upside down from the heavens. Athena, Greek goddess of Wisdom, was not punished.

I need Help writing an A.C.E paragraph on The Most Dangerous Game can anyone please help me and it has to be 8 sentences long
rosijanka [135]

Answer: The Most Dangerous Game” portrays how civilized people will turn uncivilized if life depends on it.

Thesis:

People in the story start out civilized, then become savage, especially if life depends on it.

Topic Sentence:

“Thank you, I’m a hunter, not a murderer.”

1A. Rainsford is civilized because he refused to kill another person.

Text Evidence #1:

1B. Even though Rainsford will kill animals, he still has a sense of humanity because he does not want to take another man’s life.

“He had plunged along, spurred on by the sharp rowers of something very like panic.” 2A. Rainsford’s life is in danger and he is feeling the beginning of an animalistic terror.

Text Evidence #2:

2B. His concentration and reasoning is already being compromised by this terror as he runs wildly through the woods.

“The general said, ‘Splendid! One of us is to furnish a repast for the hounds. The other will sleep in this very excellent bed.”

Text Evidence #3:

3A. Rainsford’s civilization has been discarded because he now takes the option of taking Zaroff’s life rather than a more peaceful option.

3B. This is the end of a transformation from a civilized man to a savage one caused by the fear for his life.

Rainsford proves that even the most civilized man can be turned savage in the fear of losing his life.

Jack boasts that his tribe does whatever he wants. Why is this true? Why might the boys prefer Jack's leadership to Ralph's?
sukhopar [10]
Jack has a more appealing leadership because he campaigns that his tribe will have fun and hunt for pigs (which is appealing to the protein deprived children). Ralph and Piggy don't try to make the situation fun, they realise that they have things they need to do in order to survive and especially in order to be rescued. They build shelters, firewood, and take care of the little-uns. This is all very exhausting unappealing work for boys of their age who aren't all at the maturity Ralph, Piggy, Simon, and the twins seem to have. They would rather chant war calls and run around than to work and worry. (Haven't read this book in awhile but I hope this helps!)
