“Forget sad things”, said George
Anettt [7]

Answer:

C, the inability to focus on difficult problems

Explanation:

In the excerpt, instead of dealing with things that are sad, Hazel chooses to forget them. In the excerpt there is no evidence that her choice to forget sad things is logical as it may well be a logical choice to deal with the situation. This interaction does not have many words, but we also don't know from the excerpt if it lacks any quality. Quality and quantity are not the same thing. There is not evidence of government interference.

A direct comparison between two unlike things
Dmitry [639]
If they're unlike things - it would be a metaphor.
When it comes to similes - you use words such as like or as when describing things. and since it emphasizes "unlike" things - metaphor would be the way to go.
It's quite hard sometimes when it comes for deciphering the two if you're familiar with the rule - so just remember: Simile: like or as.
Metaphor: extreme exaggeration, or a comparison without using like or as.
I hope all is well, and you pass! (: Good luck, rockstar! (:

In "The Chrysanthemums," the interaction between Elisa and the traveling repairman helps develop the story's theme about taking
Harlamova29_29 [7]

In Steinbacks’ “The Chrysanthemum”, Elisa Allen’s interaction with the repairman indicates her need of a different life that she had been experiencing. She was born at a time where women had little opportunity to choose the things they want and express their wants. It can be seen that Elisa is an intelligent and passionate woman who’s been married to a man that she do not like. Her interaction with the repairman is mostly exchanged with thought-provoking conversation and the need for sex. Because these are the things that were not given to her by her husband. The repairman, even though he exchanges flirts with her, do not feel the same. It is shown that he does not share Elisa’s passion at all when he threw Elisa’s chrysanthemum shoots away – a representation of Elisa.
