To find the area of the border, you must find the area of the larger rectangle and the area of the smaller rectangle. Then you will subtract the smaller rectangle from the larger rectangle. We are give the length and width of the larger rectangle as 18 and 12. So 18 x 12 = 216. Now we must find the area of the smaller rectangle. To do that we must find the length and width. We know the the border is 2 inches so that means that the smaller rectangle is shorter than the larger rectangle by 2 inches on each side. So if the larger rectangle is 18 by 12 than the smaller rectangle has to be 14 by 8 because we are subtracting 2 on each side. So now we multiple 14 x 8 = 112. Finally we can subtract the smaller rectangle from the larger, so 216 - 112 = 104. The border is 104 square inches. Hope this helps and if so, please leave a good rating and thanks and maybe even brainliest answer. Thank you. I really appreciate it. Have a nice day!

A gardener wants to enclose a circular garden with a square fence. If the circumference of the circular garden is about 99 feet,
Andreas93 [3]
The square will be equal to the diameter of the circle.  The circumference of a circle is π times the diameter, and the perimeter of the square is four times times that diameter...

C=πd

d=C/π

p=4d so

p=4C/π feet, since C≈99 ft and π≈3.14

p≈4(99)/(3.14)

p≈126.1 ft  (to nearest tenth of a foot)

John predicted that gas prices would rise 3.5% in the month of January. If gas prices start at $3.25, how much will the gas be i
krek1111 [17]

Answer:

$3.36

Step-by-step explanation:

to find out what the price is after an increase of 3.5%, set it as 103.5% of the original price and then we convert the percent to a decimal (divide by 100)

so:

$3.25 x 103.5% =

3.25 x 1.035 = $3.36
