Why did the colonists resist the new taxes imposed on them? They didn’t receive any benefit from the French and Indian War. They

were not represented by the government that was taxing them. They preferred to be French citizens instead of British citizens. They argued that colonists should never have to pay taxes.

The correct answer is B) They were not represented by the government that was taxing them.

The colonists resisted the new taxes imposed on them because they were not represented by the government that was taxing them.

The American colonists were upset and angry due to the heavy taxation imposed by the British crown. The colonist did not have any voice or representation in the British Parliament. And that was not fair for the, There was a quote in those years that said: "taxation without representation is tyranny." Taxes such as the Sugar Act, the Tea Act or the Stamp Ac, caused the beginning of the Revolutionary War.

Why did equiano find himself in a different position than other enslaved people?
Semmy [17]

Equiano wrote on his book that he had thought only slavery was dreadful, but the condition of a free negro was just as equally so. Their freedom was minimal and they lived in fear of constant abuses. There were no courts to listen to them and no law would protect their properties. When Equiano became a free black, he also encountered the same situation. Free blacks lived in an uncertain middle ground between slavery and freedom.
