Nadine Gordimer (Johannesburg, November 20, 1923 - Johannesburg, July 13, 2014) was a South African writer. She is the author of more than 30 books, mostly chronicles on the social deterioration that affected South Africa during the apartheid regime, through statistics and sensory details. From his debut novel The Lying Days (1953) to The Conservationist (1974), a work he won the Man Booker Prize, he devoted himself to dramatizing the difficult moral choices that had emerged in a society marked by racial segregation.
