Answer:

c. His mother dies and he feels that he is all alone.

Explanation:

The narrative of "Samuel's Memory" is about a young Cherokee Indian boy's life. The young boy Samuel had to endure the loss of his land, his father and later on his mother.

The Cherokee Indians were evicted and driven out of their own land, made to travel long trails and manage themselves after the arrival of the Whites in their land.  During the long journey, with constant scarcity of food and basic necessities, both his parents died. Though his mother died later than his father, he got angry with the Whites and began to harbor anger against them only after the death of his mother. His feelings change from the initial confusion and fear of the 'strangers' to anger and hate towards the end for his mother's death made him feel alone, with no family member to call his family.

EXPLANATION

Samuel’s Memory is a true story. A true story based on a 9-year-old Cherokee Indian boy. This story tells Samuel’s journey with his family on the Trail of Tears. The story begins with the arrival of white soldiers to his house, they come with firearms trying to drive Samuel's family from their home. The little Samuel could only be scared and confused. Long story short they were driven out of the house. On their way to the Trail of Tears, they had a hard journey.

The weather that was torturing the body finally caused Samuel's mother to die. His mother's death made Samuel angry and hated those who were white. White people are only concerned with skin color and race. Michael Rutledge, who was the great-grandson of Samuel, retell this story through his writing entitled Forgiveness in the Age of Forgetfulness.
