The goal of affirmative action programs is to reduce the effect of discrimination that has existed in the past.

Further Explanations:

Rapid industrialization and urbanization during the 1880s in the United States brought a wave of around 20 million immigrants in the United States. Some immigrants entered in hunt of religious freedom and some in search of economic opportunity while thousands of them were brought against their will. Immigrants arrived from Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe through Ellis Island which was recorded as one of the busiest immigration Inspection Centre during that era.

This over flourishing of immigrants in the United Nations created havoc in the society and even led to hated against the immigrants. This hatred gave rise to slavery and their sufferance was impeccable.

Affirmative actions were the policies that supported the benefits of the former slaves. It laid emphasis on the education, housing, and employment of the former slaves. President John Kennedy was the first one to introduce this term on 6th March 1961. He included a provision that all government contractors are entitled to employ former slaves in the government’s contracts.

Aliun [14]
It is of course impossible to tell how long the Constitution will last, but it seems very likely that it will last as long as the Magna Carta since it was such a revolutionary document in its own right.
