The correct answer is “B. Comparison/contrast.”

This one is a bit tricky because when we read the excerpt we read through descriptions of the types of calculations made. However, being described first are what the human computers and electronic calculators have in common (a comparison). What follows is a description of the differences (a contrast) in how the calculations were made. With that in mind, it can be determined that the organizational structure of this excerpt is that of the comparison/contrast.

Which phrase best define last figurative language
Mariulka [41]

a. writing that is meant to be imaginative and vivid rather than literal

Figurative language includes, but is not limited to: similes, metaphors, personification, symbols, imagery, hyperbole and oxymora. Figurative language is used to help readers better understand and picture the writing. For example, simply stating the fridge is cold doesn't create as vivid a picture as: The air from the fridge felt as though I had just opened the door to the North Pole. It made goosebumps appear on my arms! Option B sounds good, but in reality it is only describing sensory details and imagery which are elements of figurative language. Options C and D are just wrong.

What does William Wordsworth mean by "A poet" in the following bolded line? (5 points)
Natasha2012 [34]

Answer:

A poet could refer to the persona as a poet or it could also mean as an inspiration for someone to become poetic.

Explanation:

At first glance, William Wordsworth could be considered as the persona in the poem; thus, the word "poet" could be referring to himself as he becomes gay or happy seeing the daffodils. On the other hand, it could refer to anybody who becomes inspired seeing the lovely flowers.
