Answer:

d= 70°

b= 40°

a=35°

c=35°

Step-by-step explanation:

Before starting to answer the question it is important to understand that "vertical angles" are equal.

What are vertical angles?

b and 40° are vertical angles.

d and 70° are vertical angles.

So from that we can say,

d= 70°

b= 40°

The angle above "c" and angle above "a" are equal. It is shown in the figure. Lets take that angle as x. I have shown this in the attached figure.

Then,

c=x  and a=x (vertical angles)

therefore, c=a.

So we can say a=c=x.

40°+d+x+c+b+70°+a+x=360° (Angles around a point is 360°)

40°+70°+a+a+40°+70°+a+a=360°

220°+4a=360°

4a=360°-220°

4a=140°

a=35°

but, a=c

therefore, c=35°

Any idea ? I need help
trasher [3.6K]
Use the Pythagorean Theorem:
a^2 + b^2= c^2

a= one side= 68 mi
b= second side= 80 mi
c= hypotenuse= Greenville to Columbia mi

a^2 + b^2= c^2

68^2 + 80^2= c^2
square each number

4,624 + 6,400= c^2

11,024= c^2
take square root of both sides

104.995 mi= c

ANSWER: The distance from Greenville to Columbia is 104.995 miles (rounded to 105 miles).

Hope this helps! :)

the performing arts department put in its spring show on Friday and Saturday nights. the price of a ticket was the same both nig
Galina-37 [17]
Let p= the price of a ticket
Let c= the cost to put on the show

Formula:
(profit) = (ticket price) * (number of people) - (cost to put on show)
We have two equations here:
500=120p-c
400=100p-c
Solve:
100=20p
⇒p=5
⇒400=100(5)-c
⇒400=500-c
⇒c=100

So the price of a ticket is $5, and the cost to put on the show is $100.
