Read the excerpt from Elie Wiesel’s All Rivers Run to the Sea. Why were those trains allowed to roll unhindered into Poland? Why

were the tracks leading to Birkenau never bombed? I have put these questions to American presidents and generals and to high-ranking Soviet officers. Since Moscow and Washington knew what the killers were doing in the death camps, why was nothing done at least to slow down their “production”? That not a single Allied military aircraft ever tried to destroy the rail lines converging on Auschwitz remains an outrageous enigma into Poland? Why were the tracks leading to Birkenau never bombed? How does Wiesel’s choice of genre prove beneficial in the excerpt?

N this excerpt, the writer criticizes that the Allies did not respond strongly enough to the death camps in Germany and Poland. He argues that it was easy to postpone the deaths of some people and that one should fight at every instance against crime. It is clear that the author is against the opinion that countries should remain neutral or that people should avoid confrontation at all costs; when human lives are at stake one should mobilize and dispose of the mantle of neutrality. He would probably agree with the opinion that one should proactively fight injustice; this practice would have saved many lives during the holocaust. The correct answer is b. D is wrong because while he thinks that their stance was bad, they did not cause the Holocaust; they just handled it incorrectly.

Please write a brief essay explaining why you reject animal cruelty/abuse and why.
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]

Answer:

I oppose animal cruelty as I think that all living should be treated equally and should treat everyone how we want to be treated.  All animals have feelings and imagine if you were doing the same things to humans as you do to animals what would you be known as. Another reason is that it is wasteful and expensive. Imagine wasting all your money on being cruel to animals and then it doesn't even work. what a waste of time and money.

In conclusion, I think that animal cruelty should be stopped because all animals have feelings and nobody wants to waste all their money doing bad things.

What is the theme of casabianca
Ivan

Answer:

Casabianca is not purely fictitious story. It is a story of brave and innocent boy. The poetess has depicted a scene of sea battle. Where a ship is own ablaze with Casabianca standing on the deck. During the battle when every part of ship was gutted with fire, most of the crew members had died and the live ones had runaway to save their lives. But Casabianca kept standing, fearless of fire and enemy's shelling where he was in obedience of his father's order who was the captain of the ship.

When the ship was burning with fire, Casabianca's impatient nature made him ask the permission to leave the battle field but there was no reply as his father was dead.

In the last three stanzas, the poetess has described the scene of Casabianca’s death when the flames of fire engulfed him, the ship was also blasted and his body blown to bites. But in reality his spirit and moral was not defeated. Till his last breath, he stood like rock facing death and danger.

Hope this help :)
