The U.S. government is divided into three branches of government: Executive (the president), judicial (the courts), and legislative (senate and House of Representatives). This was originally intended to prevent one branch from holding too much power and developing into a dictatorship. After the announcement of the ban on the citizens of certain Muslim countries from entering the United States, thousands of travelers were stranded on the airports.
