force=mass times acceleration

the person exerts a constant downward force of 9.8*65=637N

in order for the elevator to accelerate upward at 1.2m/s^2, it has to provide a force of 1.2*65=78N

the total force needed is the sum of those 2 or 637+78 or 715N upward

part 2

elevator accelerates downards

so that will be the difference between the 2 forces or 637-78 or 559N upward

The perimeter of a square is 80 cm. What is the area?
Vesna [10]

Answer:

A = 400 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of a square is given by

P = 4s where s is the side length

80 = 4s

Divide each side by 4

80/4 = 4s/4

20 =s

We want to find the area of the square

A = s^2

A = 20^2

A = 400 cm^2

The region bounded by the given curves is rotated about the specified axis. Find the volume of the resulting solid by any method
inessss [21]

The bounded region we're concerned with lies above the x-axis.

y^2-x^2=1\implies y=\sqrt{1+x^2}

This hyperbola intersects with the line y=2 for

2=\sqrt{1+x^2}\implies4=1+x^2\implies x^2=3\implies x=\pm\sqrt3

Using the washer method, the volume of the resulting solid is

\displaystyle\pi\int_{-\sqrt3}^3(2^2-(\sqrt{1+x^2})^2)\,\mathrm dx=2\pi\int_0^{\sqrt3}(3-x^2)\,\mathrm dx=\boxed{4\pi\sqrt3}

WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

0.13591 = 13.59%.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that weekly wages at a certain factory are normally distributed with a mean of $400 and a standard deviation of $50.

First of all let us find the z-score for our given sample score using z-score formula.

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}, where,

z=\text{z-score},

x=\text{Sample-score},

\mu=\text{Mean},

\sigma=\text{Standard deviation}.

z=\frac{450-400}{50}

z=\frac{50}{50}

z=1

Let us find z-score for sample score 500.

z=\frac{500-400}{50}

z=\frac{100}{50}

z=2

Let us find the probability of both z-score using normal distribution table.

P(z

P(z

Since we know that probability between two z-scores can be found by subtracting the smaller area from the larger area as:

P(1

Upon substituting our values we will get,

P(1

P(1

Therefore, the probability that a worker selected at random makes between $450 and $500 is 0.13591 or 13.59%.
