force=mass times acceleration

the person exerts a constant downward force of 9.8*65=637N

in order for the elevator to accelerate upward at 1.2m/s^2, it has to provide a force of 1.2*65=78N

the total force needed is the sum of those 2 or 637+78 or 715N upward

part 2

elevator accelerates downards

so that will be the difference between the 2 forces or 637-78 or 559N upward

The probability of drawing 2 defective pieces one after the other on the first and second samples, without replacement, from a l
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer: The required probability is 0.004.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of pieces = 50

Number of defective pieces = 5

So, we need to draw 2 defective pieces.

So, the probability of drawing 2 defective pieces one after the other on the first and second samples would be

\dfrac{5}{50}\times \dfrac{4}{49}\\\\=\dfrac{20}{2450}\\\\=0.004

Hence, the required probability is 0.004.
