One of the theories (in which i mostly believe in) is the one when every period of time, the climate changes. Now, we are in the warmth period, but after this period, there will be a cooler climate, and keeps repeating every while (think about the ice age)
Saltation - During wind erosion, wind carries loose material from the bed, but transports it back to the surface later. This can be done by any fluid, like water too. Other examples of saltation include transport of pebbles by river and snow drifting over smooth surfaces in the Arctic.
