B is incorrectly punctuated because you should not use a comma before and if you are only talking about two qualities. This rule also applies to proper names, verbs, ordinary nouns and anything else. Therefore, the sentence would be correct if it read: "On our trip we will be driving and taking the train". No comma between the two elements in the coordination.

What is more, in the second row of examples D is also incorrectly punctuated. There should be no comma between the verb and the preposition. You shold not use a comma to separate a verb from its direct object unless the words between them require special punctuation.

There is a Unionist, – there is a strict constructionist for you. He believes in the Union of the States, and he conceives that
andreyandreev [35.5K]
The correct answer is what is written in the Constitution is not open to interpretation

Strict constructionism is a way of interpreting the constitution. Constructionists only accept what is written and the way in which it was written. There is nothing beyond what is written and from his point of view, if it says that all people are equal and citizens of the United States then all people indeed, including African-Americans. For him, there is no interpretation that looks at deeper meaning, what is written is what is intended and that's why he is a strict constructionist.

What is Lincoln’s use of figurative language in the gettysburg address?
In-s [12.5K]

1. “The Gettysburg Address” by Abraham Lincoln is remarkable through the use of rhetorical devices like allusion, antithesis, and tricolon.

2.This is a simile because MLK Jr. is comparing Justice rolling down LIKE water. He is also comparing righteousness like a mighty stream.

The impact of figurative language is to show the idea that everyone should be free.

The figurative language gives visual picture on what desegregation would look like.

Figurative Language in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Speech

"Let Freedom Ring"

"Let freedom ring" is a repetition because "Let freedom ring" is repeated throughout the speech.

In Loving Memory:

This means that Justice will be like a mighty stream and will be everywhere.

"Let Freedom Ring" means let freedom be everywhere.

"Until Justice Rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream"

HELP ASAP WHOEVER ANSWER THIS WILL BE MARKED BRAINLIST DON'T FORGET TO READ DIRECTION AND FIND THE MEANING OF CARTOON PICTURE AB
jeka94
The point of the cartoon is to show how ignorant people can be about world problems. Many people decide to stick to their own mindset and are not open to other people’s advice and solutions.

I would say that I agree with the cartoon because many people find a way to ignore the problem. They decide to only focus on their own situations and forget about the most important ones that deal with the world.

What is an absolute phrase? And how would i create one?
Aneli [31]

Answer:

An absolute phrase is a type of the phrase which modifies a noun in a sentence, but without being connected to the sentence with a conjunction. An absolute phrase is separated from the rest of the sentence by a comma, and if we remove the phrase the sentence won't lose its original meaning.

e.g. Her luggage has been packed, Sarah went to the airport.

We create an absolute sentence when we want to add some unnecessary detail to our sentence, but without changing its original meaning. In the example above, the first part of the sentence represents the absolute phrase, while the second part of the sentence contains the important information - that Sarah went to the airport.
