Odysseus won the war by hiding inside the hallow horse. It was then brought into the city, and later on Trojans partied, got drunk, and fell asleep. After, the Greeks got out of the horse, opened the city gates for the other Greek soldiers to come in, slaughtered the Trojans, and burned their city.
When he escaped the Cyclop, he got it drunk, so he could fall asleep. After plunging his eye, he escaped under the sheeps.
Comparison; Odysseus used camouflage to his advantage with himy hiding inside the horse and hiding under the sheeps.
Joe said, ''I wish I could have a real adventure (exciting experience) like the knights of the middle ages. It must have been exciting to venture (go) forth slay dragons and rescue fair damsels. I am convinced (persuaded) that I am living in the wrong period of history. Maybe if i watch this videotape (recording of a TV production) of King Arthur's court, I can visualize (see) myself as an invincible (unconquerable) knight gaining a victory (win) over an enemy horde storming the castle. I can just hear my men shouting so loudly that they strain their vocal cords (of the voice) as they send their spears flying.
''To follow the vocation (occupation) of knighthood,'' continued Joe, '' one must have a great deal of vitality (pep). I take vitamin pills (food substances essential for life) everyday and get lots of sleep and exercise, but I wonder if i could survive (exist) as a knight. I wish I could revive (bring back to life) the old days and relive some of the pages of history. Instead i will just make an avocation (hobby) out of reading about the age of chivalry, and in my mind's eye i will envision (see) those exciting events. The library, which is visible (able to be seen) from my window, is a veritable (real, true) storehouse of information, and it can help me verify (establish the truth) the facts.
''I think i will call my friends, '' said Joe, '' and ask them to convene (meet) at the library to do some research on the coats of arms of medieval knights. We must do our research quietly. If we become too vociferous (noisy), the librarian will revoke (call back, take away) our privileges.''
