A mitosis is a cell devision that results in TWO daughter cells, and is related to tissue growth.

Where is a meiosis is made up of FOUR daughter cells, and is related to the production of gametes and plant spores.

The reason a mitosis is vital for survival, is because it creates more cells in our body, and plays an important role in the development of embryos.
