Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Alright, lets get started.

Please refer the diagram I have attached.

Let us suppose the sun has angle of elevation x

The triangle formed will be a right triangle, so

tan x= \frac{opposite}{adjacent}

tanx = \frac{6}{8}

taking tan inverse

x=tan^{-1}(\frac{6}{8} )

x=36.87

To the nearest degree, the angle will be 37 degrees.  :   Answer

Hope it will help :)

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Probability distribution of this type is a vicariate distribution because it specifies two random variable X and Y. We represent the probability X takes x and Y takes y by

f(x,y) = P((X=x,Y=y) ,

and given that the random variables are independent the joint pmf isbgiven by:

f(x,y) = fX(x) .fY(y) and this gives the table (see attachment)

(b) the required probability is given by considering X=0,1 and Y =0,1

f(x,y) = sum{(P(X ≤ 1, Y ≤ 1) }

= [0.1 +0.2 ] × [0.1 + 0.3]

= 0.3 × 0.4

= 0.12

Now we find

fX(x) = sum{[f(x.y)]} for y =0, 1 and similarly for fY(y)= sum{[f(x,y)]} for x=0, 1

fX(x) = sum{[f(x,y)]}= 0.1+0.3

= 0.4

fY(y) = sum{[f(x.y)]} = 0.1 + 0.2

= 0.3

Since fY(y) × fX(x) = 0.4 × 0.3

= 0.12

Hence f(x,y) = fX(x) .fY(y), the events are independent

(c) the required event is give by: [P(X<=1, PY<=1)]

= P(X<=1) . P(Y<=1)

= [sum{[f(x.y]} over Y=0,1] × [sum{[f(x.y)]}, over X= 0, 1

= 0.4 × 0.3

= 0.12

(d) the required event is given by the idea that: either The South has no bed and the North has or the the North has no bed and the South has. Let this event be A

A =sum[(P(X = 1<= x<= 4, Y =0)] + sum[P(X =0 Y= 1 <= x <= 3)]

A = [0.02 + 0.03 + 0.02 + 0.02] + [0.03 + 0.04 + 0.02]

A = [0.09] + [ 0.09]

A = 0.18

Pls note the sum of the vertical column X=2 is 0.3

Consider the function below, which has a relative minimum located at (-3 , -18) and a relative maximum located at (1/3, 14/17).
leonid [27]
First of all, when I do all the math on this, I get the coordinates for the max point to be (1/3, 14/27).  But anyway, we need to find the derivative to see where those values fall in a table of intervals where the function is increasing or decreasing.  The first derivative of the function is f'(x)=-3x^2-8x+3.  Set the derivative equal to 0 and factor to find the critical numbers. 0=-3x^2-8x+3, so x = -3 and x = 1/3.  We set up a table of intervals using those critical numbers, test a value within each interval, and the resulting sign, positive or negative, tells us where the function is increasing or decreasing.  From there we will look at our points to determine which fall into the "decreasing" category.  Our intervals will be -∞<x<-3, -3<x<1/3, 1/3<x<∞.  In the first interval test -4. f'(-4)=-13; therefore, the function is decreasing on this interval.  In the second interval test 0. f'(0)=3; therefore, the function is increasing on this interval.  In the third interval test 1. f'(1)=-8; therefore, the function is decreasing on this interval.  In order to determine where our points in question fall, look to the x value.  The ones that fall into the "decreasing" category are (2, -18), (1, -2), and (-4, -12).  The point (-3, -18) is already a min value.

Anastaziya [24]
Easy.

7x + 2 = 2

7x = 2 - 2

7x = 0

x = 0 / 7

x = 0

Verify this by putting x = 0 ...

7 ( 0 ) + 2 = 2

0 + 2 = 2

2 = 2

Hence, "0" is the final answer.

Hope helps ........
