Answer:

  • AIDS: treatable but not curable
  • Gonorrhea: Curable

Explanation:

AIDS, or Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, is an infectious disease caused by the HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), which leads to progressive loss of immunity. As has been said, AIDS is caused by a virus and sexually transmitted diseases caused by viruses have no cure but have treatment that allows the infected person to live a long and peaceful life with proper care. AIDS has no cure, but effective treatment has been in place since late 1995.

Gonorrhea, blenorrhagia or gonococcal urethritis, among other names, is an infectious disease caused by a sexually transmitted bacteria that especially infects the urethra. Gonorrhea is a curable disease through the use of antibiotics that kill the responsible bacteria.  For the treatment of gonorrhea, currently a single dose of ceftriaxone and azithromycin assisted injection is usually used, ie the patient takes the medicine in front of the doctor.

Jose has a food allergy to almonds and gets very ill if he eats any food containing almonds. While at a wedding, Jose starts to
mamaluj [8]

Answer:

The best answer to the question: Jose´s ability to detect even the slightest presence of almond is:___, would be, C: A classically conditioned response.

Explanation:

Classical conditioning, also known as Pavlovian conditioning, is a learning process which was first adopted by Ivan Pavlov. In the case of José, he had previously had a situation in which, when he ate anything that contained almonds in them, he became sick. This experience, of being exposed to a stimulus that caused him difficulties, produced in him a conditioned response, which was, his body rejecting anything that has to do with almonds, including the smell of them. So now, after having been exposed to both the stimulus and its consequence, Jose does not need to see the almonds themselves to react to them. All he needs is something as simple as his sense of smell, and his reaction to it will be to reject the food. This is an example of classical conditioned response. His response to the smell of almond extract comes from his having first been exposed to the effects of actually eating almonds.

1. Analyze the following logical argument. At what step (i through iv) does a logical fallacy occur? i. The weight of an object
Maurinko [17]

Answer:

iv. There is no force of gravity acting upon orbiting astronauts.

2. it measures the mass

Explanation:

A logical fallacy occur in step iv

There is actually force of gravity upon the orbiting astronauts. Gravity exist in space. there is an upward and downward forces that keeps the body stable.

1,ii,iii are correct logical statements

2.What does the scale measure? ___________________ If a scale does not technically measure your weight, then why is it often used to measure your weight?

The scale measures ones mass.

Mass is the quantity of matter in a body. Matter is anything that has weight and occupies space. Assuming we are to measure the weight of ones body we will need to be hanged in the air and take measurement with the aid of a spring balance.

At this instant, the force of gravity will be acting on the body(that is one will experience the earth's gravitational pull to the earth's center)

Force is the pull or push on an object. F=mass * gravity

Force is also that which tends to change a body's state of rest or uniform motion on a straight line.

Newton's second law of motion states that the force applied is directly proportional to the rate of change in linear momentum
