The narrator of the poem, "A new beginning", changes from the beginning to the end. For example, in the second paragraph, last sentence, the text repeats, "that reflected my nervous face back to me. I walked into my first class hesitantly." However as the poem goes on, you can see the narrator gets more comfortable. Then, once the author stated, "Then: and unexpected wave. A warm smile. An introduction. "Welcome to Crossville!" You can tell that the whole mood of the poem changed. And the narrator became more optimisitc and hopeful for the new school year.
