Not really sure how to explain why, but the answer is C, it lacks hydrogen. I think it's because all organic compounds have carbon WITH HYDROGEN atom bonds.

The shells of clams and other mollusks _____. dissolve when the pH becomes more basic dissolve when the pH becomes more acidic m
Juliette [100K]

The correct answer is that the shells of clams and other mollusks dissolve when the pH becomes more acidic.

This is because the shells of clams and other mollusks are made of calcium carbonate that is dissolved in acidic conditions. The pH  needs to be low to dissolve calcium carbonate into it. It takes few days to dissolve the shell completely.

3. What happens during each of the four phases
hram777 [196]

Answer:

After DNA replicates and the cell is about to divide, the DNA condenses and coils into the X-shaped form of a chromosome. During this process, sister chromatids separate from each other and move to opposite poles of the cell. This happens in four phases, called prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.

What are the values of a, b, and c in the quadratic equation 0 = 5x – 4x2 – 2? a = 5, b = 4, c = 2 a = 5, b = –4, c = –2 a = –4,
12345 [234]

Hey there! :)

Answer:

The 3rd choice. a = -4, b = 5, c = -2.

Explanation:

Rearrange the quadratic equation given into the form 0 = ax² + bx + c:

0 = 5x - 4x² - 2 --> 0 = -4x² + 5x - 2

The corresponding coefficients for the a, b and c values are:

a = -4

b = 5

c = -2.
