They were similar because they both had to deal with religion. However, they are different because the second great awakening explained how you could change if you went to heaven or not.

The soviet union system which was communism would not have experienced great depression as institution such as banks,were nationalized. The fascist-Nazi government were also totalitarian and wielded overwhelming powers that enabled them to pass through interventions that corrected the market forces that aided the great depression.
