Answer:  D. Sediments are carried from place to place.

Weathering is the process of breakdown of rock or soil particles into sediments by the effect of wind, water or chemical agent. Erosion is the process of removal or displacement of finely grained surface or sub-surface soil by the effect of wind, water or any other agent. In both weathering and  erosion, the sediments are displaced to the location other than the one where their parent rock originated. Therefore, sediments are carried from place to place. Hence, the composition of sediments will be different from the composition of the underlying bedrock.
