Lets set the number as y. xy should be the same as y/.125. So lets solve. x should be equal to y*1/0.125. Therefore x=8

The value of x is 0.125. 
We can use an equation to solve this, where n stands for the number: 
n*x=n/0.125
We can cancel out the n's on both sides, because the two n's are equal to each other and therefore can be cut out, so we are left with:
x=0.125.
