Jefferson Middle School needs to see a 300% gain in PTO fundraiser
Ronch [10]

Given parameters:

Percentage gain = 300%

Selling cost last year = $2420

Unknown:

Selling cost this year  = ?

Solution:

To solve this problem;

     Profit percent  = \frac{Selling cost this year - Selling cost last year}{Selling cost last year} x 100

      300 = \frac{S - 2420}{2420}  x 100

      3 = \frac{S - 2420}{2420}

         S- 2420 = 7260

          S = $9680

To make a 300% gain, Jefferson Middle school needs a $9680 from fundraiser sales this year.

If sin(y°) = cos(x°), which of the following statements is true?
Firdavs [7]

Answer:

<u>y = w and ΔABC ~ ΔCDE</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

Given sin(y°) = cos(x°)

So, ∠y + ∠x = 90°  ⇒(1)

And as shown at the graph:

ΔABC is aright triangle at B

So, ∠y + ∠z = 90° ⇒(2)

From (1) and (2)

<u>∴ ∠x = ∠z </u>

ΔCDE is aright triangle at D

So, ∠x + ∠w = 90° ⇒(3)

From (1) and (3)

<u>∴ ∠y = ∠w</u>

So, for the triangles ΔABC and ΔCDE

  • ∠A = ∠C  ⇒ proved by ∠y = ∠w
  • ∠B = ∠D  ⇒ Given ∠B and ∠D are right angles.
  • ∠C = ∠E  ⇒ proved by ∠x = ∠z

So, from the previous  ΔABC ~ ΔCDE by AAA postulate.

So, the answer is <u>y = w and ΔABC ~ ΔCDE</u>

Find the 97th term of the arithmetic sequence
kozerog [31]
<h2>Answer:</h2><h2>The 97th term in the series is 409</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

The given sequence is 25, 29, 33, ....

The sequence represents arithmetic progression

In an AP, the first term is a1  = 25

The difference between two terms, d = 29 - 25 = 4

To find the 97th term,

By formula, a_{n}  = a_{1} + (n - 1) d

Substituting the values in the above equation, we get

a_{97}  = 25 + (97 - 1) 4

= 25 + (96 * 4)

= 25 + 384

= 409

The 97 th term in the given sequence is 409.
