During the renaissance period, many artists, writers, and philosopher started and contribute their works to society which bring positive development to western societies as a whole.  
Before the renaissance, most of the books that exist for people were dominated by those that produced by the churches. After the renaissance, people started to be able to find many books regarding many topics.
