The distance of A to 0 is 2 units .Point B is at a distance of 12 units from 0. The distance between a number's place on the number line and 0 is called the number's [absolute value]

A and B are l-2 l+12= 2+12 =14 units apart from each other.

Distance AB= 12+2=14 units.
