What I would consider ironic and quite frankly, interesting, is the fact that the Titanic (ship) was large and strong—and it sunk, never to be seen ever again, it's glory reduced to nothingness. And the same goes for the titans : they were glorious, arrogant, and huge, and even then they were sunk, or rather, lowered by the Gods of Greek Mythology.

On the other hand, in this example of the passive, the <u>Subject Phrase</u> is The Hawaiian Islands which are the recipients of the action performed in the Verb Phrase by an unknown/covert agent which is not mentioned in this sentence.
