When an event is independent of the other, it means Event A does not influence Event B. 

For example, if one was to find the probability of someone owning a car and what there neighbour eats, there is no correlation. In this situation, the events are independent.

Need help please with negative numbers

What I like to do with negative numbers is count back from the positive to the negative here I can make a number line! :) think of it this way 0 is the middle of your positive and negative numbers it’s where they are coming together!

-5 -4 -3 -2 -1 0 1 2 3 4 5

8-11 so count back from 8 eleven times

8-11= -3

Find the inverse of the function f(x) = 2x - 4

The correct answer is f^-1(x)=1/2x+2.

1. Substitute y for f(x). ( y=2x+4 )

2. Interchange the variables x and y. ( x=2y-4 )

3. Swap the sides. ( 2y-4=x )

4. Move the constant to the right. ( 2y=x+4 )

5. Divide both sides by 2. ( y=1/2x+2 )

6. Use substitution to substitute f^-1(x) for y.

Thus the inverse is f^-1(x)=1/2x+2
