3(x + 5) = 2(3x + 18)
Use the distributive property:
3(x)+5(3)=2(3x)+18(2)
Simplify:
3x+15=6x+36
6x+36=3x+15
3x+36=15
3x=-21
x=-7

Check answer:
3(-7+5)=2(-21+18)
3(-2)=2(-3)
-6=-6

Hope this helps :)

a concession stand is selling hot dogs and hamburgers during a game. at halftime they sold a total of 78 hot dogs and hamburgers
lara31 [8.8K]
Let x=number of hamburgers sold and y=number of hot dogs sold.
Step 1)
cost of burgers X # of burgers + cost of hotdogs X # of hotdogs=$ collected               1.5x + 1.25y=105.5

step 2)
# of burgers sold + number of hot dogs sold = total number of items sold
     x + y = 78

step 3) solve for y in the second equation
     y = 78 - x

step 4) substitute y = 78 - x in the first equation for the value of y and solve for x
     1.5x + 1.25(78 - x)=105.50
     1.5 x + 97.5 - 1.25x=105.50
     .25x = 8
     x = 32

step 5) plug in our value for x in the second equation and solve for y
     x+y=78
     32+y=78
     y=46

answer 32 hamburgers and 46 hot dogs

A triangle has vertices A(0, 0), B, (–2, 8), and C(1, 7). What are the coordinates of the triangle after a dilation with a scale
Elina [12.6K]

Answer:

Basically multiply the x and y coordinates of each point by 1/2

For example, I'll do C which is ( -2 , 10 )

-2 * 1/2 = -1 and 1/2 * 10 = 5

The new coordinate is ( -1 , 5 )

Now you can try the other points

What is the slope of the line on the graph?
Enter your answer in the box.
Firlakuza [10]

Answer:

I think this is the answer you are looking for. (See below)

Step-by-step explanation:

From the given graph it is noticed that the line is passing through many points.

The coordinates of three given points are (1,5), (-1,-1), (-1,-7)

If a line passing through two points (x1 ,y1) and (x2, y2) , the slope of the lie is defined by, m= y2 - y1/x2 - x1

The line passing through two points (-1,1) and (1,5). So the slope of the line is, m= 5 - 1 / 1 minus -1

m=4/2

Therefore, the slope of the line is 2.

Pls if this is wrong, let me know in the comments. I'm not really good at this topic in math but I hope it helps you. Sorry if it is wrong. Have a good day. :)
