Internal stimuli causes a response within an organisms body. Among the choices given only one of them is an effect because of an internal stimuli, which is a child having a fever. The internal stimuli that cause such a response could be a bacteria or virus.

If you consider the other like the chipmunk running and owl sleeping in a tree, those two are responses to predators, which are outside the body. A dog panting and snake moving to a sunny rock is a response to the temperature of their environment, which is outside the body as well.

Triss [41]
The reason why taq polymerase is used is because it is thermostable, meaning that it can remain intact and reactive after being exposed to the cycles of high temperatures that are used in PCR (an upwards of 94 degrees Celsius). If human DNA polymerase were used instead, it would immediately unfold and become inactive after the first round of high temperatures, effectively ceasing the PCR.

Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

carbohydrates.

lipids.

proteins.

nucleic acids.

Explanation: Carbohydrates are the most abundant biomolecule on Earth. Living organisms use carbohydrates as accessible energy to fuel cellular reactions and for structural support inside cell walls. Cells attach carbohydrate molecules to proteins and lipids, modifying structures to enhance functionality.

Which of the following best represents a function of a lipid within an organism? O Lipids are components of cell membranes All t
Rashid [163]

Answer:

The statement that best represents a function of lipids within an organism is that they are components of cell membranes.

Explanation:

Lipids are biomolecules formed by the binding of fatty acids, important for structure, compound synthesis and energy reserve.

In living beings, one of the most important functions of lipids is to be the main component of cell membranes.

Specifically, phospholipids associate to form a double layer, called lipid bilayer, capable of acting as a semi-permeable membrane, due to its non-polar or hydrophobic character. In this way, <u>membrane lipids fulfill a structural and protective function of the cell and its contents</u>.

Regarding the other options:

  • <em>Proteins are made up of amino acids, not lipids. </em>
  • <em>Lipids are not constituents of the DNA structure.</em>
