Point slope: y - y1 = m(x - x1), m is the slope

first picture

points (-4,-1) and (3,-3)
the slope between these points is

slope = (-3 - 1)/( 3 - (-4) ) = -2/7

if (x1, y1) = (-4, -1), then the slope-point form is

y + 1 = -2/7(x + 4)

___________

second picture (horizontal line)

from the graph, the slope is 0 because there is no rise for a horizontal line.
if (x1, y1) = (-2, 1), then the point slope form is

y - 1 = 0(x + 2)

_____________

third picture

from the graph, we have points (-2,2) and (2,-2) on the line. the slope is

slope = (-2 - 2)/(2 - (-2) ) = -1

if (x1, y1) = (-2,2), then point slope form is

y - 2 = -1(x + 2)

______________

fourth picture

if points (-2,-1) and (2,1) are on the graph, then slope is

slope = (1 - (-1) ) / (2 - (-2) ) = 1/2

with (x1, y1) = (-2,-1), the point slope form is

y + 1 = 1/2(x + 2)

_______________

fifth picture

we have points (-1,-2) and (1,2). the slope is

slope = (2 - (-2) ) / (1 - (-1) ) = 2

with (x1, y1) = (1,2), the point slope form is

y - 2 = 2(x - 1)

Can someone help me if this is correct
malfutka [58]

Answer:

No, the correct answer is (c) 10 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Triangles are always 1/2 the area of recatngles and to find the missing side of a rectangle, you just need to divide the area by known side.

Apply this knowledge to triangles:

First, I wanted to find the length of PR so that I can use the A^{2} +B^{2} =C^{2} formula to find QR, so I just doubled the area of the triangle (24 -> 48) and divided it by QP (8) to get 6 for PR.

(I can do this because those 2 sides are the same size whether the shape is a triangle or a rectangle)

Now that we know the lengths of the 2 sides, plly it to  A^{2} +B^{2} =C^{2}  -->

8^{2} +6^{2} =C^{2}  --> 64+36=C^{2} --> 100=C^{2} --> \sqrt{100}=\sqrt{C^{2} } --> C=10

This means that the hypotenuse (QR or C) equals 10

Need help for an assignment please and thank you.
BARSIC [14]

Answer: 130.9^{\circ}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

The number of students in the first year is 800

The number of students in the second year is 950

The number of students in the third year is 1000

If this data is graphed on a pie chart, then the area percentage of area occupied by third years is

\Rightarrow \dfrac{1000}{1000+950+800}\times 100=36.36\%

Now, the angle around the center of the circle is 360^{\circ}

\therefore \text{angle covered by third years=}0.3636\times 360^{\circ}\\\Rightarrow 130.896\approx 130.9^{\circ}

X+12= -15<br><br> ASAP!<br> ASAP!<br> ASAP!
mixer [17]

Answer:

x = -27

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's solve your equation step-by-step:

x + 12 = -15

Subtract 12 from both sides of the equation:

x + 12 - 12 = -15 - 12

x = -27

So therefore, that is how you found your answer: x = -27
