A regular verb just adds -ed or -d to its past tense verb. Example- walk- walked. That is regular. An irregular verb is when you change the root word. Example- Sleep- Slept.

Tear-Tore.  Regular-Jump-Jumped.

A verb is considered irregular when:

Dos not form its past and past participle by adding -ed or -d to the present

A regular verb is whenever one adds ed or d to the present form of the verb in order to make it past tense. For irregular verbs there is not a rule about their past tenses, instead, people memorize them.

<u>Here are some examples of </u><u>regular verbs</u>.

love - loved

talk - talked

cook - cooked

watch - watched

<u>Here are some examples of </u><u>irregular verbs:</u>

write - wrote

ride - rode

run - ran

swim - swam

eat - ate

What literary device does Collins mock in “Litany”?
Hatshy [7]

Answer:

C. Metaphors.

Explanation:

<em>'Litany' by Billy Collins is a love poem containing a series of ordinary and extra-ordinary metaphors.</em> The metaphorical comparisons employed by the poet makes it a light- hearted poem with a profound directive to humanity. <em>The poet begins with the metaphors like 'bread and knife', 'goblet and wine', ''dew on morning grass', 'burning wheel of sun', 'white apron of the baker', 'marsh birds' and many more to describe and compare his beloved while he concludes it by himself comparing to the "moon in the trees' and 'blind woman's tea cup'.</em> The entire poem is a chain of metaphorical analogies and symbolizes his praise and admiration for his beloved.
