Martin Luther King led the chicago marches to end racial segregation.

In 1966, Martin Luther King took to chicago his national crusade to end racial segregation, along with colleagues from his organization Southern Christian Leadership Conference to fight segregation in white neighborhoods where, with the help of real state businesses and local politicians , people of color were prevented from renting or buying real state.

The country s largest defender of civil rights decided to move to the north of the country because, as he explained then, racism was deeply rooted because of 'high levels of institutionalized discrimination'.

To eradicate this reality launched the campaign 'summer of freedom' , with which sought that african american residents have equal access to housing.

Martin Luther King was one of the most notable faces of the struggle for civil rights that marked the turbulent decade of the sixties.
