During the Progressive Era in the United States, from 1890 to 1920, the muckrakers were journalists that were dedicated to exposing the corruption that existed in the US government and institutions of America. Journalists such as Upton Sinclair and S.S. Mclure dedicated their work to this kind of investigative journalist to expose corruption cases.
