I think that it would still just be an island. A peninsula is a landform surrounded by water that extends outward from the land. Imagine a green rectangle sticking out from the green oval you pictured. That rectangle would represent the peninsula. Therefore, dividing the island in half would not create any peninsulas. Hope this helps :)

In glaciers, North and South poles and some lakes.

Explanation:

 • As more than 70% of freshwater can be found in continental glaciers around the world. The rest is in icecaps and 0.5 % store in lakes and rivers, and swamps.
 • Rest if possible may be found in the groundwater aquifers, hidden in remote and cut off lace of the world.
 • Antarctica and arctic alone consist of a huge share of freshwater in the world which is stored in ice forms. While 97% of oceanic water is saline not fit for drinking.
 • Various techniques are available for desalination of water but most of it not suitable for long term use. As it may have bacteria and harmful effects on the body. Due to climate change release of methane gas and other harmful greenhouse gases are quickly melting and depleting the freshwater r

During the process of mountain building
Fiesta28 [93]

Answer:

A. material from the Earth's interior is often returned to the surface

Explanation:

The mountains are formed when there is two plates colliding, especially when it comes to two continental plates. Because none of the plates has the tendency to sink below the other plate, their collision creates enormous amount of pressure on the crust around the boundary.

That enormous pressure manages to push the crust upward, and slowly mountain ranges start to form as the crust gains on elevation. While this process goes on, lot of material that has been buried deep into the interior of the Earth for millions of years, starts to come out on the surface.

That makes up for lot of disturbance in the rock strata, and makes up fro interesting and unexpected things. A good example of this are the Himalayas, as there are oceanic sediments at the top parts of them, despite the mountains being more than 8,800 meters high.

What reactions that occur with water help create features of karst topography?
Brrunno [24]
Karst Topography is a chemical reaction about the dissolution of layer(s) of soluble bedrock, clearly, carbonate rock like limestone or dolomite. Acidic water erodes the calcium in the bedrock, which is a main constituent of carbonate rocks in creating caverns. First tiny fractures/tunnels form in the rock and yet, with adequate time and dissolution, this acidic erosion can make huge caverns.
